WARFEST.COM LONG BEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL LAUNCH - MAY 5, 2012

WARFEST.COM
April 27,2012

Coming Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 3pm, WARFEST.COM is launching the annual online worldwide music competition at The Gaslamp in Long Beach, CA.  The event will feature SEEDLESS, ZEN ROBBI and CHAPTER 11 plus local greats on the Main Stage along with an art show by world famous artist DANO and Tom Cruz.  This event is all ages from 3pm to 10pm.  Immediately following the show, the night continues with Top 40 music and is free for all guests 21+.

THE MAIN STAGE

Part of the committment of Warfest is to assist hard working musicians build their fan base. along With support of The Gaslamp, Warfest has put together a great lineup of musicians from all over Southern California.  The Main stage consists of Seedless, Zen Robbi, Chapter 11, Doug Means Project, Phat Reggae Dub, Black Salt Tone, Straight Up Down, Not A Chance, and PDK.

SEEDLESS
Seedless formed in Orange, CA in 2006. Casey, Shay and Grant were high school friends and started playing music together in a friend’s studio. “After getting local shows and bars around town playing covers we added Joe, Matt and Juan to fill the sound and finish off what is now Seedless. Since then we have been writing original music and growing our scene in Orange County fan by fan.”

In an area where the rock/reggae sound is fairly prominent, I asked what steps they took to separate themselves from the rest of the bands out there. Casey responded, ” We have always had a different sound than your average reggae band. A few of us come from a metal background; a few of us are in love with The Beatles, a few of us like progressive rock and a few like island reggae. We stem from so many different influences that none of us let each other sell ourselves short during the production and writing process of making music. We are anal as hell when it comes to our sound and making it original.”

The band just wrapped up their first nationwide tour with San Diego band Tribal Seeds, an experience that most up-and-coming bands will never get to live. “It was a hot and sticky Nationwide Summer Tour, and we loved every second of it. Such an amazing experience going out to the East Coast and seeing our fans sing our lyrics,” says Casey.

Aside from competing for the title of Best Live Band at the OC Music Awards, Seedless was also nominated for Best World Band against bands like The Dirty Heads (who won the category), Reel Big Fish and The Aquabats. The award that they were most honored to be a part of, however, was the People’s Choice Award.

“We constantly try to put out fresh photos and videos for people to get involved with. We like to stay connected via Facebook, Twitter and our website updates. We actually go out and talk and interact with our fans, make them feel at home and like a family when out at our show. Our live show is usually the kicker for most people coming to see us for the first time. We like to keep the energy high and strive to blow people away while performing. They usually leave with a smile on their face,” says Casey

After the OC Music Awards, the band was involved in KROQ’s Your Shot To Rock contest, which pitted local bands against each other. Seedless found themselves making it into the top 5 and hearing their song on Kat Corbett’s Locals Only Show, which airs Sunday nights. After the contest was finished, their song reemerged on the list, this time with nobody to thank but themselves and their fans.

2012 marks a big year for Seedless. They will be releasing the much anticipated follow up to their debut album “Twisted Roots,” which was nominated as one of iTunes Best Reggae Albums of 2010. With no shortage of material or inspiration, they will once again make 17th Street Recording Studios, in Costa Mesa, CA their home to record with favorite engineer/producer Lewis Richards. Plans to tour in support of the album are in discussion.

ZEN ROBBI

ZEN ROBBI was brought together in 2004 by the winds of nature or you could say the ever-evolving LA music scene, unforgettable shows and tight friendships is where ZEN ROBBI has found much of its influence and progression as a band.  Infusing their own unique sound, witty lyrics and unbelievable musical talent with funk, blues and rock overtones is what allows ZEN ROBBI to set themselves apart from any other band on the music scene today.
“Zen Robbi sounds like a shot of Jack and a cold beer while staring at a smokin’ hot blonde …check em out!” – Bobby Borg, Author: Musician’s Handbook.  Over the last five years, ZEN ROBBI has recorded two full-length albums, is currently recording the third and has been involved with many other projects.  ZEN’s debut album, "Company," was tracked and produced at The Village Recorder in Westwood, California, was released in 2005 on Soul Surfer Records and received significant acclaim from local and national media outlets.  The follow up to “Company”, was self produced “Pawn Gone King (2007)” which has had ZEN hitting the ground running for the past two years, playing hundreds of shows and building a devote group of ZEN HEADS.

ZEN ROBBI has played with many large acts, including the likes of Barrington Levy, Pepper, The English Beat, Unwritten Law, Iration, The Dirty Heads, Kottonmouth Kings, RAS MG of Sublime, HED PE, JG and the Load Throwers, and many others. ZEN has ripped the roof off of everywhere they’ve played (The Roxy, House of Blues, Hard Rock, El Rey, Viper Room, Galaxy Theater, etc.), while recruiting an extremely loyal fan base along the way.

CHAPTER 11

Over the years, Daddy Scotty the DUB PASSENJAH has been blessing the reggae scene with his characteristic blend of bubbling lyrics, vinyl mash ups, and singer-style hooks, nicing up the stage and seducing our stereos with his conscious, irie vibe. DUB PASSENJAH has been fortunate to share the stage with many reggae greats such as Jr. Gong, Steven Marley, Gregory Isaacs, Barrington Levy, Bushman, Sugar Minott, Jr. Reid, Pato Banton, Tippa Irie, Freddie McGregor, Gentleman, etc. Recently, DUB PASSENJAH has made several pilgrimages to Jamaica, reconnecting with old friends as well as establishing a physical and spiritual connection to the land and the people of reggae music, drawing inspiration as he continues to forge forward and create new sounds. DADDY SCOTTY the "Dub Passenjah" is famously known for combining sweet Reggae melodies with solid dancehall vibes, giving the band a "MELLOW MOOD STYLE MIXED WIT RUGGED AND RUFF"

ART BY DAN KUBAT (DANO)

Dano’s unique combination of cinematic style and storytelling captures the essence of each character in a backdrop rich with visual cues and eye candy.  As an Emmy award winning story board artist who has worked for Warner Bros and Walt Disney Studios, Dano knows how to transcend styles and themes.  Dano’s paintings have graced the lobbies of movie and recording studios, night clubs, luxury vacation properties, featured at The Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas and have captured the attention of Hugh Hefner, James Gandolfini and Robbie Kneival with personal portraits.

ART BY TOM CRUZ

Tom Cruz is an artist, curator and graphic designer with an emphasis in color theory. I LOVE bright, bold and contrasting colors. I started drawing as a kid whenever I got in trouble (which was often, I got A LOT of drawing done) and developed a great love for art. I am self-taught and have been painting for over a decade. My artwork has been on display in many group and solo exhibitions all throughout Southern California as well as online, on clothing, and on many found objects.

ABOUT WARFEST.COM

Warfest was created through the evolution of the music industry to create the ultimate online resource for musicians, fans of music and music business employees to make money and promote their products.  Warfest has been compared to Reverb Nation due to the ability of musicians to post their videos, music, events and chart their fan votes.  However, WARFEST has three distinct differences.  Warfest puts on live music festivals every month, has an active worldwide music competition with cash prizes and is the first social networking site to pay commission for adding new friends/fans.

WARFEST SUPPORTS LOCAL MUSIC

Warfest supports local music by assisting musicians with setting up a free profile on Warfest.com and then features their videos, songs, merchandise, photos and events right on the front page generating hits and views immediately.  For musicians performing on our events, the results are even greater with featured event promotion!!!  Warfest also allows local musicians to preform on big events with international bands.  By allowing numerous bands from different markets to grow their fan base in other areas a band can generate a buzz in a region instead of just one city.  Warfest simply asks for hard work and promotion from each and every band member.  Musicians who work hard to promote the events are rewarded with an upgraded profile entering our worldwide music competition currently with over $10K in cash and prizes.
